Glonce is a daily broadsheet of AI and technology news. Every weekday it takes the day's output of the industry, keeps the part that matters, and reads it for you.
A newspaper sheet, not an infinite feed
The whole day sits on one page. On a large screen you can take in the entire picture at a glance and decide what is worth your time, instead of scrolling until the feed runs out. That is where the name comes from: the day at a glance, once a day.
Every story is already read
A headline and a link is not the product. Each story carries a self-contained retelling plus a short analysis: why it matters, who it affects, how to use it, how solid the claim is, and what the risks are. The point is that you understand the story without opening the original.
Where the stories come from
Currently in the selection: Hacker News, arXiv and Hugging Face, research-lab blogs (OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Berkeley AI), the technical press (MIT Technology Review, Ars Technica, The Register, TechCrunch, The Verge, IEEE Spectrum, Wired) and the AI press (The Decoder, VentureBeat, Simon Willison, Import AI). The list keeps growing.
How stories are chosen
Every candidate is scored on six axes: impact, novelty, relevance, surprise, the players involved, and how credible the source is. The edition is the top of that ranking, not the top of an engagement chart. Loud but empty is dropped; quiet but consequential gets through.
The score is not hidden. Open the rating badge on any story and you see the six axes it was selected on. No other publication shows you why a story ranked.
The rule about facts
A retelling contains nothing that is not in the original. Numbers, names, causes and consequences are not inferred, the story is not "improved", and no context is added from the outside. Before publication every story is checked against its source; a fact that cannot be traced back sends the story for a rewrite. If there is nothing to verify a story against, it does not run at all.

Where the opinions are
Our own judgement is kept apart from the facts and lives only in the Ed. notes. That is the single place where we allow ourselves an opinion, and everything outside a note is the source, not our position.
How it is made
Glonce is assembled by an automated pipeline under a human editorial policy. We are direct about that, and we describe exactly how it works, including what the machine does and where the checks are, on the how this is made page.
Spotted a gap?
If a source worth reading is missing from the selection, tell us. Good sources are the most valuable thing anyone can send us.
