Who runs this site

Glonce (glonce.com) is published by the Glonce editorial team, which is the data controller for the processing described here. For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to hello@glonce.com.

The short version

There are no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and no advertising. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers. Analytics runs only if you agree to it, and the site works exactly the same if you refuse.

What is processed, and why

  • Your cookie choice. Stored in your own browser so the banner does not ask again. Legal basis: legitimate interest in not pestering you. Never leaves your device.
  • Analytics, only with consent. Google Analytics 4, to see how many people read the site and which stories they read. Legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Details in the cookie policy.
  • Server logs. The web server records the request, the time, the response code, the user agent and a truncated IP address, for security and diagnostics. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site up and abuse off it.

Processors

Google Ireland Limited processes analytics data when you have consented, which can involve a transfer outside the EEA under the transfer mechanisms Google publishes. The hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf. Nobody else receives your data.

Retention

Server logs are rotated and deleted within 30 days. Analytics data is retained for the period configured in the Google Analytics property. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it or change it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, its correction or erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and portability. You may also withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was lawful before. Write to hello@glonce.com and you will get an answer. If you believe your data has been mishandled you may complain to your national supervisory authority.

Withdrawing consent

Use the Manage cookies link in the footer. Turning analytics off stops the tracker loading on your next page view; clearing your browser storage removes the stored choice entirely.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what is processed under consent will ask you again rather than assume the old answer.
