What these are

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar mechanism for keeping small values on your device. Glonce uses both as little as possible, and analytics does not run at all until you say it may.

Strictly necessary

One entry in your browser's local storage records your answer to the consent banner, so it does not ask on every visit. It contains your choice and nothing else, it never leaves your device, and it cannot be used to identify you. It is not optional, because without it the site cannot remember that you said no.

Analytics, optional

If you consent, Google Analytics 4 loads and sets its own cookies (names beginning _ga) to count visits and see which stories get read. IP addresses are truncated. If you refuse, the tracker is never loaded and no analytics cookie is set: the gate is on loading the script, not on some later flag.

There is no advertising, no remarketing, no cross-site tracking and no data broker anywhere in this.

Where the data goes

Analytics data is processed by Google Ireland Limited and may be transferred outside the EEA under the mechanisms Google publishes. Everything else stays either on your device or in this site's own server logs.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

Use the Manage cookies link in the footer at any time. Switching analytics off stops the tracker loading from your next page view. Clearing your browser storage for this site removes the stored choice, and the banner will ask again.
