Meta launches Meta One bundles, from $7.99 to $499 a month

Meta has begun rolling out Meta One, a set of subscription bundles that pair its existing per-app subscriptions for Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook with extra Meta AI features. The bundles arrive shortly after Meta launched Muse, its all-purpose AI assistant. Some Meta One tiers had been in testing earlier this year; they are now available globally starting today. Meta says the 'core experience' on its apps and on Meta AI stays free, and people can still buy the separate Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook subscriptions without opting into a bundle. Meta also says it plans to expand the bundles to include 'Edits, AI glasses, and more over time.'

For individual users there are two tiers: Core at $7.99 a month and Premium at $19.99 a month. Both include Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus, and Facebook Plus, plus more Meta AI media generation, such as making images with Muse or using in-app tools like Instagram's Restyle. Meta highlights 48-hour Instagram stories and a bold follow button among the perks starting at the $7.99 tier. Core costs less than the $11 a month it takes to buy the three standalone app subscriptions separately. Premium, at $19.99, is priced above that $11 combined total even though it bundles the same three subscriptions plus more AI generation.

For creators and businesses, Meta One spans four tiers priced from $14.99 to $499 a month, again layered on top of the individual app subscriptions. Essential, at $14.99 a month, adds tools for managing a public presence, more Meta Business Agent replies on WhatsApp for round-the-clock customer responses, a verified badge, a verified channel on the WhatsApp Business app, and impersonation protection that applies once verification succeeds. Advanced, at $49.99 a month, adds scheduling stories up to 30 days ahead, links inside organic posts and reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights, team access to the account without sharing a password, more linked devices and business broadcast credits on WhatsApp, and a higher cap on Meta Business Agent responses. Expert, at $149 a month, and Max, at $499 a month, offer the fullest feature access and the largest Meta Business Agent capacity, aimed at teams operating at scale. Across the creator and business tiers, Meta also lists a bold follow button, higher placement in search results, and monitoring for fake accounts that impersonate the subscriber.

Key facts

  • Meta launched Meta One globally today: subscription bundles that pair its Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook subscriptions with extra Meta AI generation, arriving shortly after the Muse assistant.
  • Individual bundles cost $7.99 a month (Core) or $19.99 a month (Premium), each including Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus, Facebook Plus, and more Meta AI media generation.
  • Business and creator bundles range from Essential at $14.99 a month to Max at $499 a month, adding a verified badge, impersonation protection pending verification, and expanded Meta Business Agent replies on WhatsApp.
  • Meta says its apps' core experience and Meta AI remain free, and the standalone Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook subscriptions are still sold without a bundle.
  • Meta plans to add 'Edits, AI glasses, and more over time' to Meta One, without saying which AI glasses product or when.

Why it matters

Meta is folding its AI features into the subscription structure it already uses for app perks, instead of pricing Meta AI capacity on its own. The timing, right after the launch of the Muse assistant, makes Meta One a first move to charge for the AI generation that Muse and in-app tools like Instagram's Restyle consume, rather than carrying that cost inside a free tier indefinitely. It signals that Meta intends ongoing AI usage on its platforms to sit behind a paywall, stacked on top of the app subscriptions that already exist for Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook.

Who it affects

Individual Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook users who already pay for app-level perks, or who want more Meta AI image and video generation, are the audience for the $7.99 Core and $19.99 Premium tiers. Creators and small or medium businesses running a public profile or a WhatsApp storefront are the audience for the four higher tiers, which add verification, impersonation protection, scheduling and analytics tools, and expanded Meta Business Agent capacity for customer replies. Anyone who uses Meta's apps without paying for any subscription is unaffected: Meta says the core app experience and Meta AI stay free regardless.

How to use it

The two individual tiers are Core at $7.99 a month and Premium at $19.99 a month, each bundling Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus, and Facebook Plus with extra Meta AI media generation. The four creator and business tiers are Essential at $14.99 a month, Advanced at $49.99 a month, Expert at $149 a month, and Max at $499 a month, built on top of the same per-app subscriptions. The bundles are live globally as of today. Anyone who wants only one app's perks can still buy Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus, or Facebook Plus on its own, without moving to a Meta One bundle.

How solid is it

The report is based on Meta's own announcement, relayed by The Verge, with no independent user numbers or outside commentary to check it against. One comparison in the source does not fully hold up against its own figures: it says Meta One bundles are 'a few dollars cheaper' than the $11 a month it costs to buy Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook subscriptions separately, but that is only true of the $7.99 Core tier. Premium, at $19.99, costs $8.99 more than that $11 standalone total, not less.

Risks and caveats

The source does not say which countries the global rollout actually reaches, does not name the AI glasses product due to join the bundles later, and does not say whether people already paying for a standalone subscription get moved onto a Meta One bundle automatically or have to switch themselves. It gives no user counts, revenue figures, or adoption numbers for Meta One or for Muse, and does not explain what the bold follow button or higher search rankings change in practice for a subscriber.
